American Board of Orthodontics Certification
A Corpus Christi Orthodontist You Can Trust
The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) is the most revered specialty board in the field of dentistry. The ABO strives to push the boundaries of the orthodontic practice, to help the public find access to orthodontic treatment, and to protect patients from irresponsible orthodontists.
Dr. Janet Vaughan of Vaughan & Vaughan is proud to be board certified in orthodontics, which qualifies her as a Diplomate of the ABO.
The Board Certification Process
A voluntary credential, board certification through the ABO illustrates an orthodontist’s determination to maintain a high standard of care. To become board certified, an orthodontist must complete peer-developed examinations, both written and clinical. Passing these exams requires the orthodontist to pursue additional education, signifying their commitment to constant self-improvement and outstanding patient care. Board certification takes anywhere from 5 to 10 years. Certified orthodontists must become recertified every 10 years to maintain their status.
